Animal Shelter Society and Christ’s Table Team Up

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Animal Shelter Society of Zanesville and Christ’s Table are teaming to feed pets and owners alike on Wags Wednesdays.
Wags Wednesdays was dreamed up by Shelter general manager April Cohagen-Gibson and Christ’s Table executive director Keely Warden. The event will take place every third Wednesday of each month and looks to feed every living creature that needs it.
“Animals are people’s families, and they are going to take care of their family before they take care of themselves. We want to make sure that people are getting fed, and their puppies and their kitties are getting fed too. People might not see a correlation between the Animal shelter and Christ’s table, but we’re feeding. We saw that correlation, and we decided to do something about it. I really think that once the community sees what we’re doing, they’ll support what we’re doing.”, Christ’s Table executive director Keely Warden said on Wednesday morning.
The Shelter donates their cat and dog food through excess donations they receive at their facility. Cohahen-Gibson is hoping this program brings in new waves of donations.
“We have our custom service hours Monday through Friday, eleven to four. A lot of times we’re coming in in the morning, I usually get there about 7:30, and we have bags of donations. So they can either call the Animal Shelter at 740-452-1077, or they can stop by. We’re located there at 1430 Newark Road, right behind Zane State College. We accept donations seven days a week, we’re there seven days a week.”, Cohagen-Gibson told WHIZ.
Christ’s Table is located on sixth street in downtown Zanesville.
