Area Museum Looking For Volunteers

NEW CONCORD, Ohio-The Museum Association of East Muskingum is looking for volunteers to work at its John and Annie Glenn Museum.
The museum is located in New Concord and is open Wednesday through Sunday. Operations director Debbie Allender talks about what type of person they’re looking for.
“We just want people who are interested in our local history. They don’t have to be an expert at all, just interested and have a little time to give… we give guided tours. This is the John and Annie Glenn Museum so we do guided tours and we also do living history tours on the main floor of the home so we’re also looking for people who are interested in acting for that part.”
The museum has been closed since holding a shortened season last year. COVID protocols have made reopening a hassle.
“Normally this time of year we are getting ready to open for the season and we’re getting ready for Zane Grey Day at National road, but this year we are postponing Zane Grey Day and we are postponing our opening for the season. We are not going to be open in May, possibly June. hopefully by July we feel like we can safely open and welcome visitors once again.”, Allender continued.
There is not currently a set reopening date. Anyone interested can call or email the center for more information.
