Arrest made in Heroin Trafficking Case

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office said they’ve made an arrest in the alleged trafficking of heroin in New Straitsville.
Authorities said around 1:15pm on November 24, agents with the Central Ohio Drug Task Force conducted surveillance on a 2013 black Chrysler 200 that was suspected to be involved in drug sales in New Straitsville.
The Perry County Sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle and found the driver 34-year-old Leesha Santek, of Nelsonville, to have outstanding warrants.
Officials said she was found with around 14 grams of black tar heroin. In her vehicle authorities found drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency.
Santek is believed to be a substantial supply source of heroin in the New Straitsville area. She was booked into the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville, Ohio on a 1st degree felony count of Trafficking in Heroin and a 2nd degree felony count of Possession of Heroin. Additional charges may be filed at a later date.
