Artist Colony of Zanesville Not Promoting Art Walk

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Artist Colony of Zanesville is not promoting or condoning the August ArtWalk.
The ArtCoz president Kristen Brown says that the lack of promotion is due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She explained her rationale in a Zoom video call this morning.
“The August art walk, ArtCoz will not be promoting or advertising for this month. We have left it to the individual studios if they would like to be open the night of August seventh, right now we don’t feel like group gatherings is a good idea to promote… Yeah the July ArtWalk a lot of people weren’t wearing masks that were coming. We just have to be very safe right now especially with a lot of the studios being smaller.”
The August ArtWalk was meant to be a memorial for Linda Regula but that has been pushed back at this time. Brown explained that the idea to not market the event was entirely ArtCoz’s decision.
“No this is strictly ArtCoz thing. The health department has been very helpful and put out the guidelines for us and they’re doing a wonderful job. ArtCoz as an organization right now does it think it is safe for us to have large gatherings and promote the ArtWalk.”
