ZANESVILLE, Ohio– The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties received a corporate contribution Wednesday.

United Way Board President Jim Blythe and Executive Director Meg Deedrick were on hand to accept AT&T’s check FOR $1,140. The United Way will allocate these fund to their 211 information and referral service program. In July, the United Way’s 211 program received more than 860 calls.

“It serves between around 900 households a month and we couldn’t do that without the help of friends like AT&T,” Deedrick said. “We track the number of calls that come in per month and we track what the needs of the community are.”

Deedrick said calls usually pertain to food assistance, security, and utilities assistance. And now with this handsome contribution from AT&T The United Way can help more people in need.

“AT&T is a longtime supporter of The United Way both from the company and from the employees who live and work in the area,” AT&T Director of External Affairs BJ Smith said. “AT&T shares in The United Way’s commitment to improving lives and strengthening communities.”

Blythe said the volunteers are staffs are vital to the organization. He also thanks all their corporate supporters.
