Bi-Annual Pieceable Quilters Show Returns

ZANESVILLE, OH – Calling all quilters, a bi-annual event is set to return to Zanesville this week.

The Pieceable Quilters Guild will be hosting their bi-annual Quilt Show at Zane State College on Friday, July 17th, in the Campus Center from 9 to 5 on Friday and 9 to 4 on Saturday.

Jodi Gwin, a Pieceable Quilters Guild Member, says this is their biggest fundraiser and there will be over 200 quilts on display, crafts, food, and much more for everyone to enjoy.

“In addition to just being a club that promotes quilting and the love of that, we also do a lot of community outreach.” Gwin said. “We have groups that do quilts for the Red Cross so when someone has a fire and loses everything, we donate a quilt to that family. We do quilts for Adult Protective Services, we also have done 1,500 dog beds for the local K-9 unit and the Humane Societies in both Muskingum and Licking Counties. We, every November, do a presentation to Veterans and last year we donated over 35 quilts to veterans.”

The Pieceable Quilters Show has been around for many years and the community has responded by making this a tradition for their families to attend each time it’s held.

She says those who come not only support their interest in quilting, but also the many programs and organizations that have been recipients of their quilts.

“I don’t know how many years we’ve done this show, the Guild has been around since, I believe, the ‘70’s.” Gwin said. “We have around 90 members and when the show started, I’m not sure, but we have been doing it as long as I have been a member of the Guild.”

Admission for the Pieceable Quilters Show is $6 for adults, but children 12 and under get in for free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
