ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville met Tuesday night to honor their volunteers and donors.

At Bryan’s Place in downtown Zanesville they honored the ‘Bigs’ of the year and the partner of the year, which was Shrivers Pharmacy. The dinner was made possible by a grant the organization received said Executive Director Mollie Crooks.

“This is an annual event and it’s made possible by a grant from the Gannett Foundation,” said Crooks. “It’s also an opportunity just to thank everyone who has been a donor or volunteer in any of the aspects of Big Brothers Big Sisters.”

To enhance the festivities the group chooses a theme each year. Crooks was especially excited about this year’s theme.

“Each year we have a different fun theme,” said Crooks. “I think this year’s was my favorite since I’m a chocoholic. So the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory is the theme tonight and everyone seems to be enjoying that.”
