ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Zanesville High School, American Red Cross, and Genesis Community Ambulance partnered up to help out the community.

A blood drive put on by American Red Cross was held at Zanesville High School today. Several members of the Genesis Community Ambulance were also there to donate blood. One of those donating today was operation supervisor Eric Stevens. He said blood drives like this one gives another avenue to making a difference.

“To me anything we do to help promote the hospital and all the stuff they’re involved in the community is great. So, we try to do everything we can. American Red Cross always puts out the flyers about critical blood shortages. So, we’re trying to help the community that we serve and protect here in Zanesville-Muskingum County,” said Stevens.

Mihle Hill is a sophomore at Z.H.S. who was unable to donate but, as a member of the organization Family Career, Community Leaders of America she was able to help out in another way.

“I am a social butterfly. I walk around, I hold peoples hand that need holding. I comfort people, kind of make them non-nervous. I like to talk, a lot. and I’m very outgoing. They’re like ‘Mihle you’re good for this.’ I’m like okay, yeah,” said Hill.

Students, parents, and other members of the community also came throughout the day to donate blood.
