Blue Devils blank Quakers 9-0

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Zanesville Blue Devils defeated the Quakers of New Philadelphia on Monday afternoon by a final of 9-0.

The Blue Devils scored a single run in each of the first two innings to open a 2-0 lead, but New Philadelphia threatened to cut into the lead after loading the bases in the top of the 4th. After making a pitching change, Brook Cooper came on to forced a pop-out to second base to get the Blue Devils out of the jam.

In the bottom half of the fourth, Zanesville plated four runs. The first came on a past ball with Chayce Lundell at the plate. Cooper scored from third to extend the lead.

Brody Rutledge kept the inning going with a two run single, followed by an RBI double from Adam Mumaw. Zanesville extended their lead to 6-0, and went on to add three more runs in the win.

Zanesville travels to Dover to take on the Tornadoes Wednesday.
