Boy Scouts Get A New Gadget
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Boy Scouts got a new gadget that will help them learn about science.
It’s a bot maker. The bot maker is essentially a 3-D printer donated by the Energy Cooperative Operation Round Up Foundation. Scout Executive Ed Mulholland said the scouts will be able to program, design, and build an object. Mulholland said he hopes the bot will help scouts take an interest in science and technology.
“We’re really proud to show off our new 3D printer,” said Muholland. “We have summer coming up. We’ll have a 1,000 scouts throughout the summer at the Muskingum Valley Scout Reservation. Those that are taking the stem related merit badges will actually be able to build real things.”
Mulholland said the Boy Scouts are also hoping to get a new leadership building. He said the current building just doesn’t fit the needs of the ever changing and growing group.
“Our final project is a new leadership development center here on the property we were are standing,” said Muholland. “This building is outdated not up to code. It’s just time to build something more suitable for today’s scouts and parents.”
