Caitlyn DeMassimo Wins OAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NEW CONCORD, OH- The Muskingum Fighting Muskies women’s basketball team is 7-12 on the year and have won two games in a row. A lot of that can be thanks to Caitlyn DeMassimo, who won OAC Player of the Week.

DeMassimo averaged 14 points and 6.5 rebounds en route to guiding the Muskies to an undefeated week.

On Wednesday night, DeMassimo led the Muskies with 19 points on 50% shooting from the field, while also grabbing a team-high six rebounds in Muskingum’s three point win over Capital.

DeMassimo followed her performance on Wednesday with another big game in the Muskies’ 61-57 win against Otterbein on Saturday. The Muskies trailed by 18 points midway through the third quarter and used a 24-8 run in the final quarter to erase the Cardinal lead and secure the OAC road win.

DeMassimo ranks second in the OAC in free-throw percentage with a mark of 88%.

The Muskies will next be in action on Wednesday, February 1, when they travel to Marietta at 7:00 p.m.
