Calling all Korean and World War 2 Veterans

This year, Terry’s Tavern raised $20,000 for the Flags of Honor, The Wounded Warrior Project and the Honor Flights located in Columbus.

Wayne Clark, Veterans Appreciation Foundation Committee Member, said that they want to give back to the community for the money raised, but first they need some help from the community.

“We really need help right now from the people in Muskingum County,” said Clark.  “We have to find and get signed up, Korean and World War 2 veterans to take them to the honor flight in Washington, D.C.”

Clark said that the flight is scheduled for May 2017 and they are looking to take around 20 veterans on the one-day trip to Washington.

“It’s a day for those guys to go to Washington, D.C., get met with bands and dignitaries, go visit all of the veterans monuments, visit Arlington Cemetery,” said Clark.  “They’re treated like royalty, We’re really passionate about getting these guys over there and being honored.”

Applications forms for eligible veterans could be found at the American Legion, The VFW, Terry’s Tavern, The Knights of Columbus and the Green Valley Golf Course.
