Cambridge Ice Rink Officially Open

CAMBRIDGE, OH – Get ready to lace up those skates and hit the ice! The ribbon has officially been cut on a brand new winter adventure.

The Cambridge Ice Rink is now open at 402 Wheeling Ave, and they’re ready to welcome skaters of all ages this Friday. You can even bring your own skates, as long as they aren’t figure skates.

And for Co-Owners Johnny Westfall, Kaleb Graham, and Dalton Wiggins, they couldn’t be happier to bring their ideas and hard work to life and bring new life into the area that’s sat empty for so long.

“My other office, my other business is actually in the train station. And you know, we’re always in and out of there. working and doing stuff and we look out here and we’ve got this massive yard, you know, what can we do with it? Because it’s so big and we’re right in downtown Cambridge. So we’ve been trying to do something where we could utilize this space for good and then we noticed there’s Dickens, a lot of hubbub around Christmastime around here, and so we thought it would fit in perfectly with that,” Graham explained.

Warming stations and concessions, including hot cocoa, waffles. and other treats, both sweet and savory available at the ice rink, along with private space to rent for your parties and celebrations.

And after various obstacles and hurdles to get the new addition built. Graham and Westfall say it feels like a weight off their shoulders and a huge relief to finally be able to open to the community that’s given them so much support through the entire process.

“We’ve been working really hard, so it’s cool to see it all come to pay off, you know. We, very like minded, we didn’t think we would fail. The community that we have here is just absolutely amazing. If it wasn’t for the support of our community, I don’t think we’d be half as far as we are,” Westfall told us.

“It’s pretty active around here at the holiday time of year. Downtown, the merchants and some of the activities, the nativity scenes, and now to have an ice skating rink is just really be nice for the quality of life and fun with the family,” Cambridge Mayor Tom Orr said.

Pre-Sale tickets are available for opening day this Friday, just give them a call at 740-630-5001 message them on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CambridgeIceRink.

The rink will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 4:30 PM until 10 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 PM until 10 PM, November through March. Cost is eight dollars per hour to skate and an additional two dollars if you’d like to rent skates.
