City Snow Cleanup Efforts Still Strong

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The city of Zanesville is prepared for any sort of winter weather storm Mother Nature can send its way.
Clean up crews have been tasked with working in tandem to keep the streets safe. The city also has a wealth of roads treating salt.
“Our salt supplies are running well, we’ve of course ordered additional supplies, that’s pretty standard for city government. We are running two crews, each crew seven to seven shifts in order to clear the streets and then continue to maintain them. What’s different this week versus last week is we’re actually utilizing other public service divisions in order to clear the intersections.”, Mayor Don Mason told WHIZ.
The city’s goal is to have the roads cleared by noon each day. Residents with no morning commutes are encouraged to stay inside.
“A good example is: on Maple Avenue, in some of the key intersections, you’ll see a front load ender out there helping to clear the intersection… my goal is to have everything cleared by noon and continue to work on the side streets and alleys. We’re blessed by having a good alley system, we’ve paved most of them in the past, so people do park in their garages.”, Mason continued.
The Ohio Department of Transportation will assist whenever necessary with snow cleanup.
