Cleaning up the community
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – American Pride held it’s third Annual Community Clean-Up Day April 21, 2018.
Community members joined together to help clear the trash on the on and off ramps around I-70. American Pride president Ryan Dodson said about 60 to 80 people came out to help clean-up a dozen different ramps around the city and to help make Zanesville a little cleaner.
“We’re out here doing community service for American Pride and helping clean around the neighborhood,” said volunteer Gaige Barnett. “Zanesville gives a lot to us, so we’d like to give back to the community and help out.”
Volunteers were happy to give up some of their Saturday to help clean-up and give back to the community as well as keep wildlife safe.
“It’s amazing how much trash is along the side of the highway,” said volunteer Gena Thomas. “For me personally, it’s my love of animals. It’s amazing how many just simple things like straws are along the side of the highway, and you know, that stuff gets into the environment and it’s hurting not only our Earth but it’s hurting the animals.”
Dodson said he was pleased with the participation and wants to thank all those who came to help with Community Clean-Up Day.
