Cool & Connected meeting recap at John McIntire Library

ZANESVILLE, OHIO- The Cool & Connected Public Program Workshop was held earlier Tuesday evening at John McIntire Library.

Members of Smart Growth America and Federal Partners discussed the different economic opportunities in Zanesville.

Alex Hutchinson, Economic Development Specialist, Smart Growth America, said that there is a lot of potential in Zanesville.

“There’s a lot of great starting places here in Zanesville,” said Hutchinson.  “The historic buildings, the rivers, the access to the scenic beauty here.”

He also said that there’s a lot of momentum in Zanesville with all of the small businesses that are opening up.  He said that it starts with champions on the ground, a good plan, and looking at incremental projects, bit by bit.

“I think that Zanesville is already starting to explore some of those whether its river front development or finding ways to enhance wi-fi to some of those public spaces or parks.” said Hutchinson.  He said that there’s a lot of potential with the historic buildings around the area.

He said that Zanesville is in a good direction, and with a little help, they can see a lot of growth and success in the near future.
