County Auditor at Muskingum County Commissioners

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Auditor’s Office is working on an update.
County Auditor Debra Nye said they were at the County Commissioners to discuss their search for a new software program for their accounting and payroll departments. Nye said the system they are using now is out of date and having a new system would allow for departments to do more of the paperwork at their desk, and lead to less duplication of data entry.
“A lot of paperwork would not have to come to the County Auditor’s office,” said Nye. “They would actually be able to scan invoices and attach it to their batch of bills and then we can actually upload that into our system.”
Nye said the new program would also allow employees to access more of their information such as previous pay stubs and W-2 forms. She said overall having a new accounting a payroll system would allow for more efficiency as well as accuracy.
“Our whole goals would then change in our office because that’s what we would look for; completeness, accuracy, to make sure that everything is accurate on that bill when we pay those bills,” said Nye.
Nye said they are hoping to have the new accounting and payroll software program in place by next January.
