ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Cry Out America is a national event held each year on the weekend of 9-11 to honor first responders and to seek guidance for the nation.

Muskingum County’s version on Cry Out America took place at American Pride Sunday afternoon. Hundreds were on hand to pay their respects.

“We are here to pray for out nation and to pray for our leaders of this county to be guided by God almighty,” said event coordinator Amy Moore. “It’s also a time of remembering 9-11. This is the 15th anniversary and we want to honor our first responders and give them credit.”

Moore said Cry Out America originally took place in downtown Zanesville when it started in 2010. However, it has grown every year since and they have had to move the event to a different location.

“When we first started this in 2010 we were at the courthouse. But as it grew we needed more space to expand. So we thought about this beautiful flag [referencing the large American flag on display at American Pride] and we thought it was so patriotic,” said Moore.

Moore thanked everyone who helped make this year’s event possible.
