Day 2 at the OHSAA track and field tournament

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Day two in Columbus at the OHSAA track and field tournament saw several more area athletes end their day standing on the podium.
Heath’s Taylor Hopkins was the state champion in the division II boys 800. He finished the race in 1:56.46. This coming only about an hour after he finished as runner up in the 1600, crossing the finish line just two seconds after the first-place finisher. He’ll be moving on to run at the University of Akron next year.
From the Muskingum Valley League John Glenn’s Karlie Zumbro earned All-Ohio honors for the second year in a row. She took eighth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.04. She topped that with a third place finish in the 300 hurdles, finishing that event in 43.43 seconds.
Sheridan was well represented today, too. The General’s Anna Foster made it to the podium in the girls division II 3200 finishing the two-mile race in just under 11 minutes. Her team mate Ethan Tabor also picked up two All-Ohio medals. He finished sixth in the 110 hurdles and came in third in the 300 hurdles with a mark of 38.68.
