Dog of the Week: Meet Cher

ZANESVILLE, OH- This week’s Dog of the Week is someone who is very loving but also loves to jump a lot. Meet Cher, she’s a super affectionate dog who can get along with anyone and is always full of energy.
K9 Adoption Center Volunteer Doug McQuaid discussed more about Cher and what type of family she would fit into.
“She loves to go on car rides, does good with everybody, her only thing is that she is strong enough to actually jump, we know this factually and she can jump to six feet high. She would not be a dog that you would just think well I got a fenced in backyard and she can go outside, you would need to be out there with her to make sure because like I said she’ll stick around and be with people that is one of the things she does like to do.”
McQuaid also discussed about why it’s important to keep your dog safe during the cold weather.
“In just two days, we’re about to have brutal temperatures, and not only is it going to be the temperature but it’s going to be the wind-chill. So, what you want to do is possibly, if you can, naturally if your is going to be outside it has the proper bedding, maybe change the dog box aimed at a direction. Windchill is going to be where it’s going to be the problem, so you want to make sure that the dog is able to stay out of that.”
If you can, it would also be important for you to bring your dog inside to keep him/her safe and warm during the cold weather and also make sure they drink plenty of water since it helps produce body heat.
