MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center is naming its new dog of the week.

This week’s dog is a very cute girl named Dixie. Dixie has been with the Adoption Center since November 30th.

“She is house broken, she is crate trained, we do have her in an indoor outdoor kennel so she didn’t go to the bathroom in her kennel, so that’s a good thing. She is housebroken. We do know from the owner that she is good with children, good with kids. She didn’t really give us an age range but we can always find out by doing meet and greets.”, Head dog warden Bryan Catlin told WHIZ.

Catlin says that Dixie would be a great fit for most families. The adoption process is meant to find the best homes available for the dogs.

“Anybody that’s wanting to adopt a dog, we have a lot of adoptable dogs, ya know. we’re right at about 35 at the center, but we have a lot of adoptable dogs so I recommend that anybody looking to adopt a dog come out and pay us a visit.”, Catlin said of the center.

Anyone looking to adopt Dixie or any other dog will need to schedule an appointment with the adoption center over the phone.
