DRESDEN, Ohio – The Village of Dresden is celebrating their bicentennial with different events each month.

Sunday afternoon at the Dresden Senior Center they held a Tea and Fashion Show to showcase fashion that the women of Dresden would of worn from 1920s through the 1970s. Allison Brown is one of the Bicentennial Committee members and she said they are very proud of the history of Dresden and love getting to reflect on it.

“I think it’s going to be fascinating watching the skirts get shorter, and shorter, and shorter. My favorite fashion trends are from the 50s. I love the accentuation of the curvaceous figures,” said Brown.

The period costumes were provided by ‘The Ally,’ a vintage clothing shop in Columbus. Dresden will be continuing their 200th celebration into next year with a variety of events.

“In January we are putting together a murder mystery night and a dinner with a singer. In February we are having a Valentine special and on Mother’s Day we are doing another tea here and it’s going to feature another 100 years of fashion. In July we have our homecoming that will feature all of our alumni from the Tri-Valley area,” said Brown.
