The man charged in connection with the murder of a homeless Zanesville man appeared in court. The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says 41-year-old Dale Dudas of Zanesville appeared before Common Pleas Court Judge Mark Fleegle and pled not guilty to aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and gross abuse of a corpse. Zanesville Police say that 62-year-old Leo Hayes was found on the porch of Central Presbyterian Church at 40 North 6th Street by passersby Saturday night November 12th. A coroner ruled that Hayes died of blunt force trauma and was then set on fire. Judge Fleegle continued Dudus’ bond at $5,000,000 and he remains in the Zanesville City Jail.
