Eastside’s Annual Chair-ity Auction is Just Around the Corner

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Eastside Community Ministries will be holding their annual Chair-ity Auction Friday, February 18, at the Secrest Auditorium in Zanesville.
Eastside Community Ministries Executive Director Jamie Trout explains what the chair-ity auction is and what it brings to the community.
“So, our Chair-ity Auction is our biggest fundraiser here at Eastside. It’s a really fun event where people can get as creative as they want,” Trout said. “What they do is donate a chair of any kind and they put an incentive package with that, then we auction it off and all of the proceeds go back into Eastside to help us with our programs and services.”
Along with the live auction on the day of the event, there will be an online auction that kicks off February 7. Trout said the auctions will feature chairs and seats of all types donated by local people and organizations just as diverse.
“We have businesses, churches, clubs, individuals, anyone really is welcome to put in an entry. Show off your talent, if you are an artist, you can paint a chair, or if you are a business you can put in a chair to help publicize your business and what you do here in our community. Once we auction off all those items it goes back into funding our everyday programming like our food pantry, clothing bank, and year-round youth program,” Trout said.
Apart from attending at the Secrest, you can participate in the auction online as well as hear it live on WHIZ-AM1240. Entry forms along with further details can be found online at Eastsideministry.org and their Facebook page.
