Experts are predicting this to be one of the busiest travel seasons in years

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Just one day away from Thanksgiving and Ohioans who are traveling during the holiday won’t be lonely on the roads. Experts are predicting this to be one of the busiest travel seasons in years. WHIZ’s Carmel Victor reports.
Thanksgiving Eve. There is nothing quite like it. According to AAA, it’s the most traveled day of the year. More than 40 million motorists are expected to hit the roadways nationwide.
“There will be a lot of folks out traveling on Thanksgiving Eve,” Muskingum County, Sheriff, Matt Lutz said.
The buckeye state will see a steady stream of vehicles on roadways this week. AAA said Ohio will experience its busiest Thanksgiving travel volume since 2005.
“The more time you can give yourself the more patient you’ll be. The less irritated you’ll get with other drivers on the road,” Luz said.
To help get you through the Thanksgiving Eve travel grind, Allstate’s Good Hands Rescue app is offering $2 roadside assistance. The service includes a number of things, including tows, jump starts, and fixing flat tires. Here is the best part, you don’t have to be an Allstate member to use the service.
You may have something like this in the trunk of your car, an emergency roadside kit. But thanks to that $2 app you will have more space for those thanksgivings potluck goodies.
“We want them to be responsible and make sure they are getting places safe,” Lutz said.
The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office are reminding drivers to buckle up and slow down. You’ll need to pack your patience along with those left-over turkey sandwiches. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours.”
