Food Pickup To Be Held At Secrest Auditorium

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-A perishable food drive pickup will be held at Secrest Auditorium later this week.
The pickup is in partnership with the USDA and will feature proteins. Volunteer Keely Warden stressed that the pickup is for the area’s most in need citizens.
“There have been many food boxes distributed into the community thus far, so what we’re asking for, we’ve been very generous with people in the last couple weeks, if you’ve already received a box we’re asking for you not to participate on Wednesday, unless you really really need the box. We’re trying to touch as many people as we can. Therefore, if you’ve already received a box, stay home and let another part of the community come forward and get their box.”
The pickup is designed to be efficient and safe. Assistant fire chief Doug Hobson has instructions for motorists.
“If you enter through third street, down to Schinnick, we’ll have an officer there that can direct you into the drive thru lanes at Secrest parking lot… Civil Air Patrol will be here, loading every vehicle that comes in. They plan to send a unit down this Wednesday to work with us.
The pickup will take place at Secrest Auditorium on Wednesday, October 21st from ten AM to two PM.
