ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Former Zanesville Blue Devil and 12-year NBA veteran Kevin Martin stopped by WHIZ to discuss his basketball career and his future plans.

Martin announced his retirement on Thanksgiving by writing a letter to the community featured in the Zanesville Times Recorder.  He plans to donate $100,000 to the Kevin Martin Youth Foundation to improve the youth of the community.

A first-round pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Martin played for five different teams throughout his career.  In 12 seasons in the NBA, Martin averaged 17.4 points per game, with six seasons over 20 points per contest.  His best season came in 2008, where he averaged 24.6 points per contest with the Sacramento Kings.
