Kevin Martin discusses NBA retirement

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Former Zanesville Blue Devil and 12-year NBA veteran Kevin Martin stopped by WHIZ to discuss his basketball career and his future plans.

Martin announced his retirement on Thanksgiving by writing a letter to the community featured in the Zanesville Times Recorder. Â He plans to donate $100,000 to the Kevin Martin Youth Foundation to improve the youth of the community.
A first-round pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Martin played for five different teams throughout his career. Â In 12 seasons in the NBA, Martin averaged 17.4 points per game, with six seasons over 20 points per contest. Â His best season came in 2008, where he averaged 24.6 points per contest with the Sacramento Kings.
