Four Sentenced In Nursing Home Thefts
The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says four area woman were sentenced today in connection with thefts from residents at an area nursing home. Assistant Prosecutor John Litle says 46-year-old Patricia Thomas of Zanesville who earlier pleaded guilty to 16 counts of theft from Emeritus at North Hills received a sentence of 17 months in prison and she was ordered to make restitution in the amount of 23-thousand-500 dollars by Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle. Thomas’ daughter, 22-year old Karly Thomas who had earlier pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property was sentenced to two years community control and 200 hours of community service. 51-year-old Carla Norman of Nashport earlier pleaded guilty to 10 counts of theft and one count of safe cracking and she received two years of community control and 200 hours of community service. The fourth defendant – 54-year-old Teresa Alfman of Zanesville who earlier pleaded guilty to one count of theft and one count of safe cracking also received two years of community control and 200 hours of community service. This case was part of a long investigation by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office Elder Abuse Division and included security cameras that had been installed by the state.
