Fresh Produce Market Friday

Volunteers will work together to help provide fresh produce to those in need in Muskingum County.
Eastside Community Ministry and the First Baptist Church in South Zanesville are holding a produce market on Friday. Mid-Ohio Food Bank will deliver the items which can include apples, oranges, onions and other items.
“So many people are under resourced and many of them can’t get that information out so these are the kind of events they can come to and get the help that they need. To be able to help people who need to put food on their table for themselves, for their children. It’s a great feeling. It’s one of the things God wants us to do. It’s what we’re supposed to do as the church,” said Pastor David Nuhfer of the First Baptist Church.
The produce market is a drive through process. Volunteers will help to pack the boxes, direct traffic and load the cars.
“We will generally have anywhere between 10 and 20 volunteers. We can always use more though. More hands make the work a little bit lighter. It allows us to make sure everyone is safe, but generally between 10-20 are out to help with this,” said Nuhfer.
It’s asked that those attending the market not arrive before 9am. The First Baptist Church in South Zanesville is located at 80 East Main Street.
