ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The regular season wraps up this Friday, and there’s still a lot to be decided in the playoffs.

Tri-Valley and Maysville go head-to-head at the Maysville Athletic Complex with a lot on the line. Tri-Valley has already won the MVL title outright. It’s the eighth straight year that the Scotties have won at least a share of the league title. At 8-1, if they win, then they are in the playoffs.

Maysville will need a little more help to get in. At 7-2 they need to win and hope some teams ahead of them in the region stumble.

Scottie head coach Justin Buttermore says this is a Maysville team that doesn’t get the respect they deserve.

“They’re just playing with a lot of confidence and I’ve said to our kids all week that I think they’re a team that nobody has talked about all year. Everybody has talked about Philo, and John Glenn, and Sheridan, and us. And somehow they’ve been left out in the cold. They’re 7-2. They’ve had a terrific year,” said Buttermore.

Since falling in week five to John Glenn 44-0, Maysville has ripped off four straight wins. For Maysville head coach Craig Clarke the key to success is simple – win the turnover battle.

“In our seven wins we’ve been on the plus side (in the turnover battle). In our two losses we’ve been on the negative side. That speaks for its self,” said Clarke.

Friday’s game between the Scotties and the Panthers will air on Z92 Radio. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. and pre game coverage will start at 6:30 p.m.

Other Key Friday Night Games:

-John Glenn is the only team in the Muskingum Valley League who has already clinched a spot in the playoffs. There’s still a chance that if they win Friday at Crooksville that they could get a home playoff game.

-Licking Valley has already wrapped up a home game for week 11. They’ll try to close out the regular season with an undefeated record. They take on Licking Heights at home.
