Genesis HealthCare Updates Visitation Policies

The Genesis HealthCare System is announcing a change to its visitation policy. Effective Friday May 1st visitation restrictions will be changed to allow patients to have one visitor between the hours of 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. It includes surgical patients. Exceptions will be made for patients at the end of life, disabled patients and labor and delivery patients. Intermediate Care Nursery and pediatric patients may have both parents. The Emergency Department will maintain no visitors at this time.

Visitors must be 18 years or older. No visitors will be allowed for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients unless there are special circumstances. All visitors coming into the facility will go through a screening process for COVID-19 symptoms and they will continue to be required to wear a mask during the visit. Social distancing of 6 feet should be practiced at all times, including waiting rooms. Visitors may be asked to wear further protective equipment such as a gown and gloves. Hand washing or hand sanitizing must be performed when entering a building and before entering and exiting a patient’s room.
