ZANESVILLE, Ohio– Would you like to listen to live music while you shop?

The Goodwill on Maple Avenue will be offering live music by Steve Spires this Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for its customers. The musical selection will feature a variety of local talent. Local promoter Paul Quinn is coordinating the music.

“We’re have a real fun summer here at goodwill with music performers from the area in here entertaining while shoppers are going up and down the aisles,” Quinn said. “It’s been really cool because, on some hot summer day people can come into the air conditioned room.”

This is an event Goodwill is doing to thank the community. Along with the live music this Thursday, there will also be a back to school bash.

“We’re going to be giving away some free backpacks,” Goodwill Manger Elaine Molfenter said. “As Paul stated earlier we are going to have local musicians here. We are also going to have back to school specials.”

“Goodwill has been doing this for a few years now,” Goodwill Manger Janelle Shaffer said. “We’re just trying to give back to the community, thank our shoppers for coming in, and help them out.”

If you would like to see Steve Spires perform live, participate in the backpack giveaway, or just do a little shopping you can visit the Goodwill store located on 2134 Maple Avenue.
