Green Valley Golf Course hosts veteran golf outing

Veterans Golf Tournament

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The final leg of the Veteran’s Appreciation Weekend teed off today at Green Valley Golf Course.

Veteran’s Appreciation Weekend started at Zanesville High School with the Flags of Honor Ceremony. On Saturday, they had a hog roast and silent auction at Terry’s Tavern and today was the golf tournament. PGA Head Golf Professional at Green Valley, Steve Galloway said it was a beautiful day for the tournament and the turnout was excellent.

“Well, Mother Nature came through for us so it is going great. We have 145 players and it’s just wonderful. It wouldn’t be possible without the major sponsors behind us and all of the players. We are just tickled to death with how this weekend went,” Galloway said.

Galloway had Green Valley Golf Course in a very patriotic theme today. Each pin today rather than having the Green Valley Flag had a United States Flag, and Old Glory could be seen all around the golf course. Galloway said, the support veterans receive around the area is a beautiful thing.

Galloway added, “It’s unbelievable, with the participation that we get in this every year, this thing fills up so quickly. The county, the city, everybody has backed us so, so well on this venture that we’ve done. This is our fifth year into our Veteran’s Appreciation Foundation and we couldn’t be more happier.”

Galloway said the entire weekend was beautifully put on, and he believes people really enjoyed the weekend.
