Hardware Store Raising Funds

DUNCAN FALLS, Ohio-On Monday evening a Philo family lost their barn to a fire.
The barn and livestock lost were a main source of income for the family. In the wake of the accident Sam Starrett of Starrett and Son in Duncan Falls has offered to be a drop point for donations to help the family rebuild.
“People here in the community have reached out to me about being the collection point for a fundraiser that Katie Imlay of the Duncan Falls Business Association has put together. They’re wanting to raise funds for the family in their time of need… They can simply call here at the store, 740-674-4372, ask any questions they might have. They can send a check or cash.” , Starrett said to WHIZ.
Other area businesses and citizens have already made donations at the hardware store. Starrett says that the donation period will go on as long as necessary and he praised the fire department for their response.
“As far as the duration of this fundraiser, I don’t know. I’m gonna say probably through the spring and summer… I personally would like to give a hat off to Jared Blake. He’s the fire chief of the Harrison Township fire department, him and his fire department was on the scene, I think Wayne Township was also on the scene as well.”, Starrett said at his store.
Donations can be made by either check or cash at the store.
