Hawks second-half turns out power on Electrics win streak

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — After a strong first quarter, Hartley’s zone defense stifled the Electrics offense, knocking off Philo 53-29– snapping their 6-game win streak.

Cole Smith hit a pair of first-quarter three pointers, and the Electrics used a patient offense to build a lead by the slimmest of margins, 10-9 after the opening quarter.

Hartley swarmed like hawks in the second-quarter though, holding the Electrics to just three points while they began to find their rhythm on the offensive end. The Hawks took a 22-13 lead into the locker room before outscoring Philo 31-13 in the final 16-minutes to slam the door on the Electrics 6-game win streak.

The Electrics look to get back to their winning-ways on Wednesday when they head to Cambridge to battle the Bobcats.
