THORNVILLE, Ohio – With Sheridan knocking off Tri-Valley in overtime 76-66, there’s now a log jam a top the Muskingum Valley League standings.

The Generals had a 10 point lead at one point in the second half, but the Scotties kept chipping away. Greg Nolder banked in a three with 29 seconds to play to tie the game at 59 and force overtime.

However, overtime would be rather anticlimatic. Sheridan scored 17 points in post regulation, 15 of them coming at the free throw line to get the 76-66 win. In total 88 free throws were attempted by both teams.

Ethan Heller lead the Generals with 31 points. A school record 17 of those came from the charity stripe.

Sheridan is now 7-2 in the MVL and just a game back of both Tri-Valley and John Glenn. The Scotties are 7-1 in the MVL, while the Little Muskeis are 6-1.

The Generals are at Philo on Friday.
