High school basketball player of the week – Matt King

DRESDEN, Ohio – Tri-Valley’s Matt King has been voted the WHIZ-TV basketball player of the week.
The Scottie junior point guard has helped lead Tri-Valley to four consecutive victories. Last week they beat two DI teams, Delaware Hayes and Mifflin, and King was the team’s high scorer with 18 and 16 points, respectively.
It’s a Tri-Valley team that had to delay the start of their season by about two weeks because the football team making it to the state championship game. However, King said he thinks the basketball Scotties haven’t missed a beat, despite missing a lot of practice.
“We have great chemistry. We really work well together. We give each other the ball and it’s mixed scoring. Not one person scores more than another, really, “said King.
The Scotties are 5-1 on the season and next play Friday when they go to Maysville.
