High Speed Chase Results in Crash on I-70

ZANESVILLE – The chase started in Newark and according to the Newark Police Department, an officer attempted to pull over the vehicle for a routine traffic stop. The vehicle fled and the chase went through areas like Brownsville and Mount Perry before traveling onto I-70 East in Muskingum County. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the vehicle lost its two front tires and collided into a guardrail; ending the pursuit. Newark Police say that the suspect was taken to Genesis and will be released and taken to jail.
