House fire on Putnam Avenue

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–The Zanesville Fire Department responded to the scene of a structure fire Tuesday afternoon.
The fire happened around 1:15 p.m. in the 700 block of Putnam Avenue.
When crews arrived on scene, the two story house was fully engulfed in flames.
According to Zanesville Assistant Fire Chief Doug Hobson, a woman inside the home was taken to Genesis Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
He said several pets inside the home are believed to have perished in the blaze.
The Zanesville Police Department, Falls Township Fire Department , and the American Red Cross assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investiation.
