Hundreds Participate in Zanesville Half-Marathon

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Runners take to the streets of downtown Zanesville and parts of the north side.
The marathon route starts at Zane’s Landing Park, goes along Country Club Drive, past the hospital, across Linden to cross the Y bridge, then back to Zane’s Landing Park.
“Really it was just a vision and with the support of the community and the sponsors, the Muskingum County Community Foundation and the Health Department, really coming together to help with the logistics. The City, of course has done a wonderful job with bringing everybody into the picture and just executive the vision and building on year one has really been the biggest thing,” Hanna Luburgh-Agin, Race Director tells WHIZ News.
It’s the snd year for the half marathon.
“For the half marathon it’s usually a four-month training regimen, so they just build on miles each week and then they build themselves up to 13.1,” Luburgh-Agin adds. “It’s just an accomplishment in itself just to complete the half-marathon. So really just crossing the finish line, it doesn’t matter what time you get, for most, it’s just a feat and something off the bucket list.”
Zanesville Police provided traffic management for the Saturday morning event.
