Interim Hospice of Zanesville Presents Check

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Every year Interim Hospice of Zanesville sits down and picks a local non-profit organization.
The reason for this is to donate money to that organization so they can continue do some good in the community. This year they chose the Veterans Association Foundation and presented them with a 3 thousand dollar check on Tuesday, November 20th.
Becky Joseph, a nurse at Interim Hospice said, “We’re so excited to give them $3,000. This organization does so many things to help veterans, show them the appreciation that we have for what they’ve done in service to our country.”
Joseph said that the Veterans Appreciation Foundation will use the donation to put together holiday packages for veterans, give rifles for honor guards and color guards and other opportunities involving veterans. Wayne Clark, President of the Veterans Appreciation Foundation said that the holiday packages are going to be delivered to veterans who are in hospice, home hospice, assisted living and nursing homes.
“Some of the stories we heard from last year and some of our staff said they had veterans say that’s the only thing they would get the entire year,” Clark said. “They have no family left perhaps, no one comes to see them, and so we had veterans in tears, some of our staff was in tears also. So it’s really special and it means a lot to them.”
Clark said this is a fun project put together by the Veterans Appreciation Foundation, American Legion and the Daughters of American Revolution. If you are interested in donating to the Veterans Appreciation Foundation you can head to their website.
