John McIntire Library, Dolly Parton organization giving away free books

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Kids in Muskingum County will have the chance to register free books at an event this Saturday.
“Leap into Literacy,” will be held at the John McIntire Library this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Outreach Services Manager Beth Brown says the day is held in partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
“We are very excited about partnering with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Which means any child in Muskingum County who is [age] birth to age five can sign up to recieve a book once a month for free.”
The event will also have entertainment, refreshments and face painting.
“We are going to have all kinds of information about signing up for a free book. We’re going to have refreshments, entertainment for the children, face painting. It’ll just be a fun day to come to the library. And if you don’t have a library card, may as well get one while you’re here. It’s also free to get a library card. We have lots of services for children, families, anyone in our community.”
Brown says the books chosen for each child are based on their age.
