ZANESVILLE, Ohio- People are always looking to buy a home, but never get started because they don’t have the resources or because of the recent high housing market.

The John McIntire Library will be providing a program series called, “Buy a Home,” that will help residents decide if they’re ready to purchase their own home and how to prepare for the home buying process, according to Heather Phillips, Adult Services Librarian at the John McIntire Library.

“It is a program all about buying a home. So if you’re a first time home buyer or if you’ve done this before and it’s been a while, it’ll be a great program for you. They’re going to talk about what goes into pre-approval, how you even get started, the different types of loans you get and kind of the different things that realtors know about buying a home,” Phillips stated.

The program is partnered with Park National Bank and the Guernsey-Muskingum Valley Association of Realtors. Each session will have an expert speaker that will discuss a step in the home buying process.

“This is for all the people that are really ready to do it, but they don’t know how or if it’s just been a dream of theirs to own a home at some point in their life, but they don’t think it’s achievable, they’ll go into ways that you can actually do this and achieve your dream of owning a home,” Phillips said.

This series will begin on January 25th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the John McIntire Library inside of meeting room B. To register for the series, please visit muskingumlibrary.org under the events calendar.
