Lady Dawgs stay on Maysville’s heels with win over Sheridan

DRESDEN, Ohio — The Tri-Valley Lady Scotties improved to 8-2 in league play with a 51-42 win over Sheridan on Saturday afternoon. Tri-Valley remains just one game behind the Maysville Lady Panthers for first place in the MVL.

The Lady Dawgs got off to a fast start opening up an eight point lead after the first quarter, and stretching that lead to as many as 16 in the second thanks to several takeaways caused by a swarming defense. Tri-Valley took a 30-17 lead in the the locker rooms.

Kendyl Mick, who lead all scorers with 23 points on the afternoon, helped Sheridan get the lead down to single digits multiple times in the second half, but every time the Lady Generals made a run, the Scotties had an answer.

Tri-Valley maintained their 13-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, before seeing the game out for a nine point victory in the end. Audrey Spiker lead the Scotties with 13 points, while Laiken Little chipped in 10, and Alysa Edwards-Frick added seven.

Tri-Valley plays next on Wednesday when they travel to West Muskingum to take on the Tornadoes. Sheridan battles the Electrics when Philo comes to Glen Hursey Gymnasium.
