Lady Devils Fall Short to Johnnies

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Zanesville Blue Devils girls basketball team has suffered three consecutive losses. Tonight they had a date with the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies. At 4-5 Zanesville is looking to get back to .500.

Early first quarter Kandrea Sowers gets it to Kylie Osborne and her elbow jumper is good. Zanesville leads 4-2.
Later in the quarter Jersey Draughn gets a clean look from beyond the arc and she connects.
Now right before the quarter break Kylie Sharp is good from three. Johnnies lead 17-14 at the end of 1.
Sharp stayed hot in the second quarter, a sharpshooter with another bucket from downtown. She had 22 in the game.
Late in the second quarter Jada Seyfried passes the rock to Rayne Newman, the 6 foot freshman gets the contact layup and the foul! That made it 30-28 Johnstown.
They went on to win 51-49 in a back and forth battle. Jersey Draughn led all Blue Devils in scoring with 19, Kandrea Sowers added 15 in the loss. Lady Devils will host Licking Heights on Friday.
