Lady Little Muskies win district title; Zanesville comes up short

CADIZ, Ohio – The John Glenn girls soccer team scored the game’s first goal 90 second into their district semi-final match with Beaver. It took them over 80 minutes to score their next goal, but it’s one they’ll remember forever.

Tied at one at the end of regulation, Ashley Townsend scored five mintues into overtime to give John Glenn the 2-1 win over second seeded Beaver. The victory give JG the district championship and moves them onto regionals to face New Philadelphia.

They’ll play the Quakers Tuesday in the regional semi-finals at a location to be announced.
