Lakewood Finishes 2nd in Girl’s LCL Tournament

Lakewood’s Avery Thompson led the Lancer’s to a second place finish at the Harbor Hills Country Club on Wednesday in the LCL girls tournament season opener.

The trailed Watkins Memorial who finished the day in first with 327 strokes to the Lancers’ 333. Granville finished third with 359, Licking Valley fourth with a 404 and Newark Catholic fifth with a 419. Utica came in with 427.

After shooting 71 earlier in the week at Hocking Hills, James matched par with a 72 on Wednesday at Harbor Hills Country Club, leading the Warriors to the team title in the LCL girls tournament season opener.

Hannah Huggins and Jessa Boch added 96 for the Blue Aces.

Ellie Lange shot 91 and Jacqueline Gieseler 92 to help Licking Valley. Natalie Banks posted 104 and Sylvie Devore 117.

Alli Doering shot a 95 for Newark Catholic, while Macey Myers had 106, Natalie Holsky 110 and Leah Moberg 113.
