Properties Discussed at Recent Land Bank Meeting

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Muskingum County Land Bank held a large meeting Tuesday evening.
The meeting mostly discussed properties now owned by the commission.
“At the meeting we brought in several properties. One of these was a house on Cliffwood Avenue, we’re actually looking at partnering with some non-profits to redo that. Other than that we brought in a lot on Lexington Avenue, a lot on Wheeling Avenue, a lot on Luck Avenue, two on Greenwood, three on Spangler and a three and a half acre piece of ground in Philo,” Roberts said.
Profits from properties sold will be divided amongst projects and groups in need of income. Some profits will go to the Land Bank’s projects with Habitat for Humanity.
“These taxes get apportioned out to all the different taxing entities, your school district, county, city, so on so forth. We’re looking to put a long term plan together with Habitat for Humanity. We’ve been feeding them several properties and Habitat will be coming to the February meeting to fill us in on some of the newer programs they’ll have in place and we hope to give them more business,” Roberts continued.
The Land Bank looks forward to partnering with Habitat for Humanity long into the future.
