ZFD on The Job on Labor Day
While Labor Day is typically a day off from work for most people, for those who work in emergency response, it’s just another day of working to help keep the community safe.
Kyle Jones, Firefighter for Zanesville Fire Department said that today is just another day at the office.
“It’s just another day for us here. Â You do the same thing you do today as you would any other day. Â Show up to work, get stuff ready and take calls as they come in,” said Jones.
Jones said today hasn’t been to busy of a day thus far, but there is certainly a lot of potential for accidents and fires on days where people are gathering together in large crowds and having cookouts outside.
Jones also mentioned to have fun, enjoy the day, but make sure that you make smart choices and use your common sense during the holiday festivities.
