Local United Way is helping to find volunteers for various organizations

ZANESVILLE – The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties feels that it is very important to act as a channel that bring volunteers to different organizations especially at a time when non-essential businesses will start to open.
“That is our motto, to live united. We want to unite the organizations that might need volunteers or resources with those volunteers and resources to get them together,” United Way’s Resource Development Director Kyle Dunn said.
Dunn shared some examples of the types of places that may be in the most need of extra help.
“We know that there are food pantries out there who are maybe at capacity and they need some people who help handle the food and do some lifting like that, for example, right now, at Secrest, they do the food drive and we’ve linked them up with some volunteers who do just that. They carry out the food from the cars into where they keep the food for the food drive,” Dunn said.
People looking to volunteer or would like to have their organization added to United Way’s list can find information on the non-profit’s website or call its “211” phone number. Dunn can also be reached by e-mail at kdunn@unitedwayofmpm.org
